Don Rosa's comments: MAY: RETURN TO PLAIN-AWFUL Sometimes I really fool myself drawing these collectible pictures. This picture is a reference to the sequel I made to the great classic of Carl Barks' 'Lost in the Andes' ('Aku Ankka ja kulmikkaat munat', Juhlasarjat 10), the 'Return to Plain Awful' ('Roope-setä ja Andien kutsu', AA 17-20/90). Actually the scene is a bit different. $crooge and his companions were at the bottom of the valley, when Flintheart Glomgold fell off the sky on $crooge's head with his square eggs, but an exact picture of this scene could not possibly have included the spectacular view of the Plain Awful seen from the mountain cliff.
