PROLOGUE:

Happy New Year 2003!
I think it's great that my friends at Aku Ankka have decided to publish a second calendar compiled from my drawings - because they always present my work in the best possible light. For example, the pictures in this calendar that were originally colored for French Picsou-magazine were colored even better by my Finnish friends. Personally I can only take the credit for the black and white art. Again it has fallen on me to write the accompanying texts for the pictures. I am afraid that my confusing babbling will only diminish the splendid work that has been done during the coloring. I especially want to thank those responsible for that.
This calendar consists of two kinds of pictures - some that are based on my own stories, and some that are based on the classical stories by Carl Barks. Some of the latter depict scenes from some of my favorite stories - the masterpieces that inspired me to become a comics creator in the first place. My own month June will be most marvelous if my wall is decorated by a picture of the money dam breaking apart, reminding me of the first real $crooge-adventure. And some of my own stories are not all that bad either.
I have written a D.U.C.K.-hint for every picture as well. As you probably know, I hide my tribute to the great master Carl Barks in the form of D.U.C.K. ('Dedicated to Unca Carl from Keno' - my whole name is Keno Don Rosa) in every cover and every first panel of every story I am drawing. Still, try to locate it without my help. As a tip I can tell you that the 'D', 'U', and 'C' usually can be hidden anywhere. The more angular 'K' is however easier to find, as well as the dots behind the letters. So keep your eyes open for anything that looks like a ´K´! 'K' is a familiar letter to you Finns, it's much more common in your language than it is in English. In Scrabble it's only worth a point to you, while it's a treasure worth ten points in the American edition.
Finally, I want to wish all of you twelve times a really happy year in 2003!
