History:
In 1579 Sir Francis Drake raised a fort on the top of a hill in the new English settlement Drake Borough on the western coast of North-America. The fort was called Fort Drake Borough. This name was in use until 1818 when the hunter Cornelius Coot took over the place and renamed the settlement Duckburg. The fort was then called "Fort Duckburg". Around 1901 the newly founded boys-organisation The Junior Woodchucks used the fort as their head quarters.
In 1902 the fort was finally teared down to give place for the new monumental building in Duckburg, Scrooge McDucks Money Bin.
In W.H.A.D.A.L.O.T.T.A.J.A.R.G.O.N. Don Rosa shows that Fort Duckburg was reconstructed in The Black Forest nearby Duckburg, in the early 1950s.
A more detailed presentation of the history of Duckburg is found at: The lives and times in Duckburg.
