08/26/69 KENTUCKY KERNAL (University of Kentucky newspaper) Vol LXI #1 Don begins his tenure as staff cartoonist with the printing of a one panel editorial cartoon. 12/31/69 - 05/29/70 Don does a series of one panel cartoons for National Garage Builders that saw print in The Courier Journal and The Louisville Times. 09/08/71 KENTUCKY KERNAL Vol LXII #5 First app. of THE PERTWILLABY PAPERS (this was a one panel cartoon announcing publication of the strip beginning next issue) The Pertwillaby Papers ran from 09/09/71 - 12/13/73 for a total of 127 episodes and laid the foundations for the Unde Scrooge story Son of the Sun Fall 1969 Don begins to contribute to Bill Wilson' s The Collector (a fanzine), Don contributes irregularly through the fall of 1973 (#28) ??/??/?? RBCC #75 Don first contributes to Ray Miller's Information Center, which Don would eventually take over in issue #108 and continue through #150 (12/79) 09/76 RBCC #130 Don revives The Pertwillaby Papers (episode #128 ) with all new adventures through #148. 09/81 The Comic Reader #194 Don begins his association with The Comic Reader by reviving Information Center, In issue # 196 TCR begins to reprint Don's Captain Kentucky Strip untill issue #219 09/84 04/81 The Captain Kentucky Collection #1 is published. 1983 Fantagraphics publishes Don Rosa's Comics and Stories #1 and #2 10/08/82 Amazing Heroes #10 Don begins to do Illustrations for JIM KORKIS'S Potpourri 11/1985 The Captain Kentucky Collection #2 and #3 are published. 11/01/86 Amazing Heroes #106 Don reinstates Information center 04/15/87 Amazing Heroes #115 Don premieres Don Rosa's Cover Gallery. 05/91 Amazing Heroes #190 Don's last issue. |
