Interesting facts:

|
In Denmark this story has the exact same tittle as "Return to Xanadu".

This story is said to be Don Rosa's favourite story among his own production. It was actually drawn on Carl Barks' old wooden drawing board, which Don Rosa for the occasion borrowed from the collector Donald Ault.

Parts of story is actually ispired by an old Pertwillaby Papers story called "Sub-Zero".
Elements in this story are also inspired by W DD 51-02 "The Secret Of The Glacier" (1957) by Carl Fallberg / Tony Strobl / Steve Steere.
