Interesting facts: This story was done after a friendly request from the redaction of the Norwegian Donald Duck & Co who wanted a good story to celebrate the Winter Olympics held in Lillehammer, Norway in 1994. Don Rosa wasn't happy about the idea of setting a story in 1994 and was figuring about the possibility of letting the story instead take place in 1952 (the previous Norwegian Winter Olympics which was held in the Norwegian capital Oslo). However he gave in when the Norwegian editor insisted that the story should show Lillehammer in 1994. Due to this Don Rosa still sees it as an "imaginary story".
